Challenges

With more than 300 Shopify vendors involved, real-time inventory management was a major challenge. Frequent inventory mismatches often resulted in overselling, order cancellations, and a poor customer experience.

Order fulfillment optimization was required, as customers frequently face delays and high shipping costs due to international shipping from India. Prioritizing local warehouses for order fulfillment whenever inventory was available provided quicker delivery and lower shipping costs before sourcing from international vendors.

Improvement was needed in the vendor onboarding process, inventory synchronization, and order management. A smooth solution was needed to improve working efficiency and accuracy because the current manual workflow was prone to mistakes and delays.

Solution

To resolve all the issues, we integrated Trendia.co with Unicommerce, a powerful multi-channel inventory and order management system. This integration simplified operations and enhanced efficiency across order fulfillment, inventory management, and vendor onboarding.

With Unicommerce integration, we connected all 300+ vendors to enable real-time inventory updates on Shopify. This automated system confirmed that stock availability was always accurate and prevented overselling and order cancellations, finally enhancing the customer buying experience.

We created a custom rule-based fulfillment system to prioritize local warehouses when stock was available. If the stock was in a local warehouse, such as in the USA, UK, or Australia, the order was fulfilled locally, so it reduced both shipping time and prices. If stock was not available at the local warehouses, the system automatically sent the order to an international vendor, ensuring smooth order processing.

We automated Vendor onboarding and order synchronization to improve efficiency. A smooth workflow was created to allow vendors to sync their inventory and order data smoothly, lowering manual work and minimizing delays.
